This collection is about Fairbanks aviation history and includes a photograph album filled with images of airplanes, bush pilots, plane hangars and airplane wrecks. James Rodebaugh and his wife, Johannah Rodebaugh, wrote the captions on the back of the photographs identifying people and locations. Included are pictures of the Rodebaughs, Noel and Ralph Wien, A.A. Bennett, Ed Hudson and Fred Mueller. There are also images of the various planes flown in Alaska during this era of newfound commercial aviation and notable images include the "Anchorage" plane that Noel Wien flew non-stop from Anchorage to Fairbanks and the first plane James Rodebaugh purchased for his first airline company Alaska Aerial Transport Company in Fairbanks, Alaska. There are also photographs from planes, pilots and flight crews from the Bennett-Rodebaugh Company and Pan American Airways. Images of the Rodebaugh's home in Chena, Alaska, their Fairbanks home on Illinois Street, and the trail at Chatanika Way are also contained in this collection. In addition, the Rodebaugh Papers contain a letter written by Mrs. Rodebaugh in 1961 about her husband's experience with his airline companies in Fairbanks, Alaska, letterhead for the Fairbanks Airplane Corporation, a flight rate chart for the Bennett-Rodebaugh Company and captions for select photographs from this collection that Robert Williams Stevens wrote in 1987 and used in his book Alaskan Aviation History.
